"How are you?"

We often ask this question, but how many of us are truly prepared to share, or even hear the real answer?

"I’m fine."

"I’m good."

"I’m okay."

These answers have become the accepted norm, often given without a second thought. We are so used to giving automatic responses which rarely are truthful and almost never thoughtful. We don’t pause to consider the question or reflect on how we truly feel, often providing meaningless answers that may even contradict our actual reality.

But how are you actually feeling today? Are you being honest, at least with yourself?

I invite you to take a moment to pause. Sit down, close your eyes, and breathe slowly and mindfully. Take a deep breath in and a long breath out. Try to genuinely connect with yourself, peeling back a few superficial layers and be sincere. Allow yourself to be vulnerable, free from any judgment.

And now, go ahead and ask yourself this simple yet profound question:

"How am I today?"

When you ask that question, take the time to truly contemplate and feel how you’re doing today. Pause and assess your inner state. If the truth feels overwhelming, remember: the only way out is through. No hiding. No denying. Be honest with yourself. And as you navigate your feelings, be kind to yourself. Embrace whatever emotions arise without criticism.

Growth often comes from facing uncomfortable truths, but it also requires self-compassion. Know that it’s okay to not have all the answers right now. Take it one step at a time, trusting that each moment of honesty brings you closer to understanding yourself more deeply.

Breathe. You’ve got this.
